The perspective and focus
Of psychology —
Is entirely retroactive
Absurdly, comically
Tragically

Where it takes a fragment
Of speech or action
And installs it backward
Into a body
Retrofitting a ghost self

Seeking reasons and motives
Of no self
For that
Which has already taken place

Psychology’s domain
Is not the reality
Of psyche —

But the friction
Between the retrofitted ghost
And society —

On either end
It sits
Between fictions
