Groups For Groups

All societies
All systems of government
Stand upon —
And conceal —
One singular assumption
One fundamental agreement
That

The whole is greater
Than the sum of its parts
That

The collective’s survival
Is more important
Than
Individual’s survival

Whoever talks about
Individual rights
In a society
Is talking about
Pseudo-rights
Secondary rights
Rights that do not exist
Within the foundational assumptions
On which
A society is formed
Based, and governed

The pseudo-rights of an individual
Are rights only until
He does not threaten
In action, speech
And
Even in thought
Even in his private thoughts —
The integrity of the whole

If he does
There is police, prisons
Psychologists, psychiatrists
Healthcare facilities
Surgeries and death chambers
And media —
To ensure that the fate of transgressors
Is portrayed as justified
Quelling further revolt

An individual has the right
In a society
To stay in his lane
Stop at red and go at the green
To breed, work and vote —
Even run for office —
To ensure and protect

The fundamental assumption
That individual is secondary
And the whole is primary
