Godhead

God — whatever name we give it —
Is necessary
Absolutely necessary
Existentially and philosophically
Necessary
Not essential, but necessary

A construct —
Born of self-awareness
Of the division it creates
Between perceiver and perceived —
Necessary for the human
For the existence, sustenance, experience
Of self-awareness itself

Yet, the self aware being
The human
Is inescapably, irrefutably
The only means
Through, in, and by which
God — by whatever name —
Can ever come to exist
Can ever be known

The man who bows to God
Is, in truth, bowing to himself
For in the act of worship
Man sets aside — forgets —
Ignores and denies
His own Godhead

If he did not
If he neither denied
Nor forgot —
He would bow
Nowhere and to no one
And yet, to everything
And everyone
