Where The Dead Once Lived

How does someone
Take residence — in your heart —
When they don’t even know
It’s where they live

How does someone keep residence
In your heart
When you don’t even know
When they moved in

Where the dead once lived —
A ruin in throes, vacant
Drenched in absence —

How do you clear someone
From your skeleton and marrow —

Someone you know
You’ll never see

And have to —
Have —

Let go
