Subjectivity

This camera —
Simultaneously capturing
And displaying

Three-dimensional world
Of height, width and depth
With textures, sensations

Its lenses — eyes
Side-attachments — ears
Tripod — legs

With microphone
And speaker
Processing input — projecting output
Engaged
With the world

The world displayed
Upon the screen
Filtered through
The camera’s senses

Is camera’s
Subjective world

Known only —
During wakefulness
When the camera
Is lit
As the subject
Encountering the world —

The same world
Vanishes in sleep
With camera unlit
Without subject —
Experiencing the world

The proof —
Of the objective world
Without subject

Is not
A matter of consensus
But
Of looking

The camera
Does not care
If it is told
By the entire population
Of the world

Even if it sees banners
Hanging in the sky
Saying that what you — the camera —
Are seeing

Existed before you
Will continue after you

No matter what
The camera sees or hears
It only ever sees
And knows

Through itself —
Never separated or apart
From itself

And itself
It has never known
Nor can —
Independent
Of what it displays

Perceiver, the camera
Perception, the recording
Perceived, the display

None can ever be known
Be shown
To be independent

And what they are
Can not even be said
To exist
