Reader-Writer
As soon as I stop reading
Writing stops
As soon as I start reading
Writing begins
I am the very first reader
Of everything I write
The writer and reader are inseparable
Indistinguishable —
One phenomenon
Like speaker and listener
No me and no you writing
No me and no you reading
Reading and writing
Simultaneously arising
One act, one movement
Of the reader-writer
I am the first audience
Of every word I utter
Bringing it into being
For who but the reader could write
Who but the listener could hear
As the reader stops
So does the writer —
Like a dreamer
Being the dream and dreamer
Dreaming itself
