Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Raji'un

What does the world appear to me as
Appealing or unappealing
Yet I know — it is the same world

A mound of flesh
A mound of shit
A mound of gold —
Are the same

Only my thinking makes them so
Only my conditioning
Only the body-mind lenses
Make the world appear as it does

Male or female
Young or old
Black or white

I know —
And yet the world appears to me
Only as it appears
Through the lenses

Without lenses
There is no world
No me on this side
No world on the other side
Of the lens

And this lens is body-mind
And as long as it appears
There will be duality
There would be experience
And I and the world

Without it —
What remains
Must be The Truth

Nameless
Unknown
Unknowable

Because there is no one there
To name or know it

This brief excursion
In life —
Our time here —
To separate and create
The world —

And then return
Where we came from

To where we never left
