Ineffable

I am the mystic, the sage
The saint and the idiot

I am the lunatic
The murderer
And the murdered

I am the world —
The birds, the trees and the stars

I am the word —
The poems
And the madman’s gibberish

I am all prayers and cries
Moans of pleasure
Screams of every creature

I am the painting
The painter
The colours, and the canvas

And if that was not all —
I am none of the above

I am beyond

Unaware of it all
Unaware of being unaware

I alone am —
And not even that
