Another carrot
Dangles over there

In the empty space and time
Unseen —

Carrot dangles
And this donkey wonders
If it’s but
A hallucination

Even here and now
In this empty space and time
Without hallucinating
The day ahead —

Train to catch
Appointments to keep
Meetings to attend
Shopping trips and cooking

What could move
This donkey
If it didn’t see
What isn’t there

And if both
Donkey and the carrot
Are nowhere here
Nor there

Hallucinating factory
Must —
The none that’s left
